The Shore of Silence - Whatipu Beach
The Shore of Silence - Whatipu Beach
Oil on canvas
As an artist, I enjoy taking my own photos as references for my paintings. One day, while working long hours in my studio for an upcoming exhibition, I needed a break and decided to explore outside. I was living in Auckland at the time and ended up at Whatipu Beach, which is at the bottom of Waitākere Ranges Regional Park. It was my first visit, and I instantly fell in love with the place. It's a beautiful spot with hardly any people around, making it incredibly peaceful and quiet. The weather was lovely, with the sun shining brightly on a late winter day. I found myself walking along the beach wearing purple gumboots, enjoying the warmth of the sunshine, the sound of the waves, and the reflections in the shallow water. It was a magical and serene experience, and that's why I decided to call it "The Shore of Silence" - one of the most peaceful beaches I have ever been to. |
